Meet Shelby & Amber

The faces behind the studio—and the two people who somehow thought buying an entire pottery studio off Facebook Marketplace was a perfectly reasonable idea.

In February 2025, we took the plunge and bought a pottery studio complete with nearly 4,000 vintage molds, two kick wheels, five kilns, and an impressive collection of lead glazes (don’t worry—we disposed of those properly!). Our pottery experience at the time? Mostly hours of watching TikToks and thinking, “We could totally do that.”

Our original plan was simple: create a little hideaway where we could unplug, make some questionable art, relax, and enjoy the process without worrying about whether anything actually turned out.

But somewhere between the clay, the kilns, and the inevitable “Wait… what if we actually did something with this?”, we started seeing the studio’s potential.

Amber, a registered nurse currently on the downhill slide toward becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, began imagining a space that could be about so much more than pottery—a place where creativity, connection, and mental health could coexist.

And just like that, Centered Studio was born.

What started as our personal escape is becoming a space for everyone: a place to try something new, make something imperfect, meet people, slow down, and maybe leave feeling a little more centered than when you walked in.

We’re building workshops, classes, and—most importantly—a community rooted in acceptance, creativity, mental wellness, and bringing people together.

So, follow along as we figure this thing out, one lopsided pot at a time.

We’re so glad you’re here.

Stay up-to-date

Don’t worry—we hate emails too.

We pinky promise we won’t spam your inbox. This is simply the best way to stay in the loop, see what we’re up to, hear about upcoming workshops and classes, and (hopefully!) find an excuse to come hang out with us.

Just an email every now and then with pottery, creativity, and good things happening at Centered Studios.
